Rav Yosef Rosen zt”l (1858-1936), one of the most prominent Rabbanim of the previous generation, was known as “The Rogatchover Gaon”. Rav in Dvinsk, Latvia, he authored the Tzofnas Paneach on the Rambam and wrote more than 50,000 teshuvos, apparently making him the most prolific writer of teshuvos in Jewish history. He was admired by all Gedolei Yisrael of his generation.
The author of this work, Rav Yair Borochov, researched the work, character and history of the Rogatchover for three decades and has published many works and articles on the subject.
